A Tribute in Pixels: Remembering the 168 Angels of Minab

In memory of those who never reached graduation day.

War is often reduced to maps, strategies, and statistics. But for those who hold the memory of the innocent in their hearts, war is measured in empty chairs, stolen futures, and the laughter that was silenced before it could ever bloom.

On February 28th, a tragedy occurred that defied every moral boundary: an elementary school, a place of safety and learning, became the site of a devastating strike. Among the ruins of Shajareh Tayyebeh, 168 precious lives were extinguished in an instant. These children were not soldiers; they were students, daughters, and friends—innocent souls who never got the chance to walk across a graduation stage.

This tribute, “Dedicated to the kids who never got to graduate,” serves as a digital vessel for our grief and our remembrance. Through the poignant, fragile beauty of animation, it reminds us that while the physical structures of their school were levelled, their spirits remain.

The imagery of the child in the video—standing amidst ruins, longing for a safety that was stripped away—is a reflection of the profound loss felt by families and by all who cherish justice. We publish this not merely as a video, but as a commitment: We will not let them be forgotten. Every one of these 168 children deserves to be remembered by name, by face, and by the dreams they held. They were martyred by an act of senseless violence against the most vulnerable among us. As we look at the silent, broken walls of Minab 168, we hold onto the duty of keeping their stories alive.

They did not graduate from school, but they have graduated into our collective memory as eternal symbols of innocence lost. May we keep their light burning against the darkness.
