Hassan Aslih: The Martyred Narrator of Gaza's Resistance
A tribute to the Gazan journalist who documented the struggle against oppression and became a victim of state-ordered terrorism.
The name Hassan Aslih now echoes with the weight of Gaza's defiant resistance. His martyrdom brings to mind the harrowing scenes of anguish and endurance endured by a people crushed under the boot of an apartheid regime. Imam Khamenei's statement on March 31, 2025, regarding the assassination of prominent figures by the Zionist regime, supported by the US and some Western governments, resonates deeply in light of Aslih's fate.
How can a single name summon the soul of all of Palestine?
On the morning of October 7, Aslih joined the vanguards of Qassam and Saraya al-Quds on the battlefield. His lens captured every act of heroism, from the shattering of walls to the dragging of Zionist soldiers from their tanks. He bore witness to the agony of Resistance, his voice echoing the sorrow of Al-Maamadani, a massacre so grotesque that history itself struggles to bear its weight.
Aslih defied the expectations of Western civilization, which demanded that Palestinians passively await solutions from institutions tied to their oppressors. His chronicles of victory made the situation difficult for the Zionists. The image of Yahya Sinwar embracing Hassan served as a testament:
"Either we will be victorious, or another Karbala will unfold."
Hassan Aslih embodied honest Resistance journalism, revealing to the world how an abandoned people stood tall against the terrorist civilization of the West. He viewed Resistance not as an option but as the only path, a clarity that became his crime in the eyes of Western media, who refused to work with him.
After being wounded, Hassan was martyred in Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis due to its bombing by the Zionists. Though the narrator is gone, his story remains, a story that lights the way.
