Iranian Journalists Targeted in Israeli Strike Call for Global Media Solidarity
On National Journalist’s Day, IRIB presenters urge colleagues worldwide to stand as the voice of truth.
On the occasion of National Journalist’s Day, Khamenei.ir has released excerpts from an exclusive interview with two Iranian broadcasters who survived a recent Israeli attack on their workplace.
Ms. Sahar Emami, anchor at the IRIB News Channel, and Ms. Vajiheh Sadat Hosseinian, presenter at IRIB’s Radio Ava, were on duty on June 16, 2025, when the Zionist regime launched a strike against the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).
Speaking about the incident, the presenters stressed that journalists worldwide must unite against such acts of aggression. “We must stand firm and be the clear voice of truth in the world,” they urged, calling on media professionals to resist intimidation and ensure that the realities of oppression and injustice are reported without distortion.
The attack on IRIB forms part of a broader pattern of targeting media outlets in conflict zones — a tactic condemned by press freedom advocates as an assault on the public’s right to information.
